As I drove to work today, I had this overwhelmingly intense tension in my chest and throat.
I kept replaying my to-do lists (yes, lists) over and over again in my mind, thinking about the disarray (and let’s be honest, dirtiness) of my house and my schedule, which had me going non-stop until 9 p.m.
I wanted to turn my car around, drive home and climb back under my sheets.
These feelings of overwhelming stress are actually somewhat new to me. For just over a year, I’ve been working full-time, running my health coaching business, blogging, teaching fitness classes, selling a nutrition line and more recently I’ve been doing yoga teacher training. All this sprinkled in with volunteering for a few organizations, creating a new group for entrepreneurs in my community and preparing to teach a college course in the fall.
While I practice self-care daily to manage my stress and create a bit of balance in my life, I occasionally have a mini meltdown. When I do, these are the steps that I take to take back control and find some calmness…
