Food is such a big part of our lives. We need food for nourishment, but it’s also often the center of celebrations. Imagine if you felt pleasure and love for yourself when you took a bite rather than frustration and guilt.
That’s what I want for you because I know first-hand how life-changing going on that journey can be.
Sitting in science class in third grade, the boy sitting next to me told me that I was fat. I had always felt a little different from my classmates...I was introverted and shy...but the size and shape of my body wasn’t something I thought much about as a seven year old.
His words became my mantra for nearly two decades. My inner dialogue created body image issues, low self-esteem, emotional eating, constantly comparing myself to others and feeling like I was worthless.
I believed that losing weight was the key to my happiness, so I tried everything - diets, diet pills, starving (which always led to bingeing) and over exercising. To me, food was “good” or “bad.” When I ate “bad” foods, I felt ashamed of myself. That shame led to overeating even more processed, high sugar foods to cope with my feelings.
Not only did I struggle with my weight, I had high cholesterol, my skin was constantly breaking out, I never had enough energy, I had frequent headaches and I was unhappy.
So how did I break free from emotional eating and dieting, and find the confidence to shed the “I’m fat” mantra I had been repeating for decades? I learned how food actually nourishes my body, I began moving my body in a way that felt fun, and I let go of the guilt and shame I felt when I ate certain foods.
It began when I embarked on my own journey to live a healthier life and it all came together when I enrolled in the Institute for Integrative Nutrition where I graduated as a certified health coach. I learned that there is no one diet that works for everyone, and I learned how to nourish my body based on my unique needs.
Now, I’m healthier than ever! I have the energy to meet with clients, teach yoga classes, give wellness talks, go on bike rides and go hiking with my fiance, and travel while still feeling healthy and confident.
I left my old habits and beliefs about myself behind when I realized there’s no such thing as perfect. The key to lasting health is building a foundation of healthy habits, creating the right mindset around food and about yourself, and allowing there to be room for the foods I once labeled as "bad."
Learning how to let go emotional eating and food obsession has allowed me to turn my struggle into a purpose. To help you embark on your own journey to lasting weight loss and empowered eating.

My approach to health and wellness is holistic, which means I look at many areas of your life and how they impact your health. I believe this is the key to breaking free from emotional eating. Maybe long hours and a stressful job cause you to binge eat in the evenings. Or not taking the time to do things that bring you joy have you reaching for unhealthy comfort foods. We will explore those areas of your life together and find ways to create a healthier balance.
Together we will work to reach your health goals whether your goals include weight loss, improving sleep, gaining energy, conquering cravings, implementing a fitness routine, and managing stress.
I don’t believe that weight loss is about being skinny or having the “perfect” body. My programs are intended to help you discover ways to live your healthiest life, feel your absolute best and learn to love your body.
