*I received the opportunity to write about Manitoba Harvest Hemp Hearts through my ambassadorship with FitApproach. Manitoba Harvest sent me a package of hemp hearts to enjoy. All opinions are my own.
Chocolate makes everything better, right?
Brownies are definitely one of my favorite sweet comfort foods. There’s nothing quite like the gooey chocolatey goodness of a brownie.
And if you’ve never tried making black bean brownies, you are totally missing out. The taste of the black beans completely disappears, and you don’t have to use any flour! The black beans add tons of fiber and make the brownies super moist.
I found a recipe for black bean hemp brownies on the Manitoba Harvest website that looked delicious. I decided to add another superfood seed to the recipe to make the brownies even more nutritious! And Black Bean Super Seed Brownies were born.
I’ve actually been adding hemp hearts to salads, smoothies and oatmeal for awhile now, so I was excited to get the opportunity to write a post about these super seeds!
Hemp hearts, which are raw shelled hemp seeds, have a nutty taste, and have 10 grams of protein and 10 grams of omegas per serving.
This was the first time I tried baking with hemp hearts, and it worked perfectly. The hemp hearts added a nuttiness to the brownies that was absolutely delicious!
