One of my goals each year is to read at least one book a month. I’ve always loved reading, but without a goal it can be really easy to choose Netflix over a book.
I’ve met my goal the past couple of years, and 2016 was no different. I go back and forth between personal development books, biographies and novels. I also go back and forth between reading books and listening to books on Audible.
I read a lot of personal development book this year mostly because I had a year of self-discovery and personal growth and those are the books I gravitated towards.
But I also discovered Ruth Ware, who writes hauntingly suspenseful novels that you don’t want to put down.
I already have big reading plans for 2017 because my book club has been revived after a long hiatus. I also bought A LOT of books on Amazon in 2016 that I never read.
But before I move on to next year’s reading list, I want to share what I read in 2016. I loved every book that I read throughout the year.
Here’s what I read in 2016:
My Life on the Road by Gloria Steinem
Hunger Makes Me a Modern Girl: A Memoir by Carrie Brownstein
The Zookeepers Wife: A War Story by Diane Ackerman
Tears to Triumph: The Spiritual Journey of Suffering to Enlightenment by Marianne Williamson
In a Dark, Dark Wood by Ruth Ware
The Girl with the Lower Back Tattoo by Amy Schumer
The Power of Vulnerability by Brene Brown
The Woman in Cabin 10 by Ruth Ware
I’ll share the books I plan to read in 2017 in an upcoming post!
What was your favorite book this year?
