I hope you had a wonderful holiday!
My Christmas was very low key this year. The BF and I stayed home and relaxed, and spent time with my family.
It was a great Christmas, but I can’t believe it’s over already. I feel like the holiday season just flew by.
Here’s a recap of my Christmas weekend…
Friday, Dec. 23
I had Friday off of work! I slept in, drank coffee and ate homemade cinnamon bread topped with cashew butter and banana slices.
I finished a homemade Christmas gift for my niece. At Crafternoon with the girls last weekend, we started these pom pom rugs. I made mine for my niece.
I cleaned the house, finished wrapping gifts and went to the grocery store for cookie ingredients. Then my mom, niece and I made Christmas cookies.
Saturday, Dec. 24
I woke up early and made chai spiced baked donuts with cinnamon vanilla glaze. I added my favorite vanilla protein powder to give these donuts a nutrition boost, and they ended up being so delicious.
I then went to a yoga class at the CHI Wellness Center. Mary taught a heart opening class, and asked us to visualize a time or place that brought us peace and joy. It was a really good class.
When I got home, I finished making breakfast. The BF and I had donuts, egg scrambles, coffee, and I had a mimosa.
The BF and I ran a few errands to buy some last minute Christmas gifts and to pick up groceries for a Christmas dinner. We saw Santa in the grocery store parking lot.
I had some greens (balancing out that breakfast champagne).
We had crockpot chicken chili for a late lunch. And since it was a holiday, wine.
That evening, we went to my brother’s in-law’s house. We had dinner there, but there wasn’t anything I could eat. Luckily we had a very late lunch. But it was fun to hang out with everyone.
Sunday, Dec. 25
I started the day by making vegan cranberry orange chocolate chip scones to take to my parent’s house.
The BF and I headed over there in the morning for breakfast and exchanging gifts with my parents, brother, sister-in-law and niece. My aunt and uncle from Omaha were visiting as well.
My parents always go overboard on gift giving, but I’m so grateful for their thoughtfulness and generosity.
I received lots of fun yoga and health gifts. My brother, sister-in-law and niece also got me a TOMS gift card, a mani/pedi gift card, and they got the BF and I a new crockpot.
My parent’s also gave me gifts to help me run my business and travel.
It’s so much fun watching my niece open up her Christmas gifts. She gets so excited.
When the BF and I got home, I put this Christmas scent mix on the stove. I found it on Pinterest, and it was amazing. The whole house smelled so good.
We watched It’s a Wonderful Life and drank spiked coffee.
The BF and I eventually exchanged gifts. The BF gave me lots of yoga goodies I had asked for – a yoga bolster, a cork yoga block and a yoga wheel. He also gifted me with an automatic starter for my new Subaru!
That evening, I made us our own little Christmas dinner. On the menu: cheese plate, roasted herbed turkey breast, roasted Brussels sprouts, roasted squash, mashed potatoes. Everything was dairy free except the cheese plate. I enjoyed a few pieces of goat cheese (the first cheese I’ve eaten since August). Luckily, I didn’t have any reactions to it.
That evening, we had a crazy wind storm. Our recycling bin, trash bin and patio furniture were blowing all over the place. The BF and I had to run outside and chase after our recycling.
I have the next week off of work! I’m going to spend some much needed time relaxing. But I’ll be sharing some blog posts to help you get ready for the new year and I have my 30 Day New Year Jump Start program starting soon! Get the details here: bit.ly/30day-jumpstart.
