Planning a wedding can be stressful! It’s an important time to make self-care a top priority. Using essential oils in your daily routines is a perfect way to practice self-care leading up to your big day.
After the fiancé and I got engaged, we set an intention to keep our wedding planning process as stress-free as possible.
We didn’t want to spend a year feeling stressed about a day that is supposed to be one of the happiest of our lives.
We’ve made all of our wedding decisions together, but I’ve done the majority of the research, booking vendors, communicating with vendors, and paying invoices. It’s a lot of work, and I’ve definitely had moments when stress started to creep in.
When we’re busy and stressed, we tend to let go of the habits that keep us feeling healthy and energized, which can have an impact on our sleep and immunity. Everything is connected!
So I’ve been making sure my self-care is a top priority during the wedding planning process.
One of the ways that I’ve been practicing self-care is by using essential oils for stress, for energy, to boost my immunity, in my beauty routine, and for my overall health. I’ve incorporated essential oils into many of my daily routines so that I’m practicing self-care every day.
How to use essential oils for pre-wedding self-care:
For Stress:
Lavender
Diffuse lavender in your bedroom or add a few drops of lavender to a spray bottle with water and spray on your pillow and sheets to get a restful night’s sleep.
Add 5-7 drops of lavender oil to ½ cup Epsom salt and pour into your tub before filling with bath water.
You can also add a drop of lavender to diffuser jewelry and wear it to meetings with vendors or when you’re making big wedding decisions.
Orange/Lemon/Grapefruit/Citrus Fresh
Diffuse a citrus oil or a citrus blend like Citrus Fresh for an uplifting scent when you’re feeling drained from wedding planning.
Stress Away
Apply Stress Away to the back of your neck while you’re wedding planning or at night if your mind tends to race before bed.
Stress Away is one of my favorite oils to diffuse when I’m working on plans for the wedding. Stress Away is a blend that contains copaiba, lime, cedarwood, vanilla, ocotea, and lavender. Sometimes I like to add a couple of drops of Grapefruit Essential oil to my diffuser with Stress Away.
For Energy:
Peppermint
Diffuse peppermint for an uplifting and energizing scent. Peppermint can help with mental concentration and alertness.
For Immune Support:
Thieves
Thieves is a combination of Clove, Lemon, Cinnamon, Eucalyptus Radiata, and Rosemary essential oils. Diffuse Thieves or apply it to your chest or the bottom of your feet along with a carrier oil.
For Beauty:
Frankincense
Add a drop of Frankincense to your favorite moisturizer to give it a major boost. Frankincense can help protect skin cells and help improve the health of your skin. I like to use my jade roller after applying my moisturizer.
Diffuse during meditation or yoga for a grounding scent.
For Health:
Lemon
Add a drop of lemon to your water in the morning. Lemon helps to balance the body’s pH balance, helps stimulate the digestive system and detoxifies the body.
NingXia Red
Take a shot of NingXia every day. It’s an antioxidant-rich drink that contains wolfberry, plum, aronia, cherry, blueberry, and pomegranate juices and extracts. NingXia Red benefits include support for energy levels, normal cellular function, and whole-body and normal eye health.
PanAway
Apply Pan Away with a carrier oil to help alleviate sore muscles after working out.
