Our wedding is just over a month away! We’re getting so excited for our wedding week in Colorado.
We have most of our wedding planning done, but we have a long list of small things to get done before the big day arrives. I was feeling a little overwhelmed by the list, so I asked a couple of girlfriends to come over and help me work on a few tasks and projects that I was struggling with.
We’re having a destination wedding, so we haven’t planned any major DIY projects. We want to avoid having to take a ton of stuff to Colorado, do a bunch of set up, bring it back to Nebraska, and either store it or get rid of it. We have a florist doing 99% of our decorations for our wedding.
But we are putting together little gifts for our guests, planning a few fun activities, and I’m working on a special photo project for our reception. So my girlfriends came over with their glue guns ready for some mimosas.
I made brunch for the girls and they brought some fruit and kombucha. I kept everything dairy-free because I avoid dairy most of the time and so does one of the girls that came over.
Here’s what we had at the brunch:
Strawberries and grapes
Cherry Kombucha from First Street Brewery
The food and drinks were delicious! However, I’m going to keep looking for a savory non-dairy crust recipe. The coconut one was a little too sweet.
It ended up being a fun day. I’m not going to share any of the details of our wedding yet because I want everything to be a surprise for our guests.
The fiancé and I have done most of our wedding planning ourselves, but the wedding planning brunch was a good lesson in asking for and receiving help. It was helpful to just talk about some of our wedding plans. I felt like I gained clarity on a few things I couldn’t make decisions about. Now that our wedding is getting closer and we have all these small tasks to complete, it’s nice to have help!
How often do you ask for help? Try reaching out to someone this week and asking for help with something you’ve been struggling with.
