Because I’m feeling a bit uneasy today as the country welcomes our next president, I’m keeping things light and easy.
I love writing these posts and sharing what’s going on in my life at the moment. So far, this year has been easy going and relaxing. I’ve managed to keep my schedule pretty open, which was a much-needed change.
I’ve been reading a lot, watching good shows, spending time in the kitchen, and making time for yoga and meditation. All the things I need right now.
Here’s a look at what’s been happening lately…
What I’m Reading…
I’m currently reading Whistling Past the Graveyard by Susan Crandall for my book club. I’m about halfway through and it’s really good so far.
I’m also reading Daring Greatly: How the Courage to be Vulnerable Transforms the Way We Live, Love, Parent and Lead by Brené Brown for my personal development book club. I’m obsessed with Brené Brown! If you haven’t listened to the Power of Vulnerability, you must. It was life-changing.
What I’m Wearing…
I’m obsessed with this “Namast’ ay in Bed” sweatshirt from Target. It’s super cozy, so I’ve been living in it on weekends.
I’ve been all about comfort lately, so I’ve also been wearing some new LulaRoe pieces. My BFF from childhood, Lacy, just launched her LulaRoe business, so I’ve been supporting her and buying pieces. I had never tried LLR before, and I’ve been happy with everything that I’ve purchase. All the clothes are super comfy and flattering. I have an Irma, a Classic T, Leggings and a Julia. You can join her LLR Facebook page here and shop any of her online pop up shops.
What I’m Watching…
I’ve been really into Timeless and This is Us. Scandal will be starting again next week, so I’m really looking forward to that.
I’m also watching the second season of The Man in the High Castle, which is soooooo good! You can watch it on Amazon Prime.
What I’m Eating…
I made these chocolate protein truffles this week, and they are so delicious! They taste like the gooey part of a brownie. I used my favorite chocolate plant protein powder to create the chocolatey flavor. If you make these, you must use a high quality protein powder or they won’t be as good.
I’m still drinking green smoothies consistently. I’ve been adding liquid fish oil to my smoothies lately! I know it sounds weird, but the liquid fish oil I use has a citrus flavor, so it adds a delicious orangey flavor to my green smoothies. Here’s the recipe:
1 cup almond milk
1 frozen banana
1 tsp. liquide fish oil
1 scoop vanilla plant protein
Blend together in a blender.
I’ve eaten this breakfast casserole almost every morning this week. It makes breakfast so quick and easy! It’s really flavorful and satisfying.
What I’m Listening To….
I’ve been listening to lots of podcast episodes of 10% Happier by Dan Harris. I love learning about meditation, and he interviews people with many different perspectives of meditation. I think I’m going to read the book 10% Happier: How I Tamed the Voice in My Head, Reduced Stress Without Losing my Edge and Found Self-Help That Actually Works — A True Story by Dan Harris soon!
What have you been reading, wearing, watching, eating/drinking and listening to lately?
