I’ve probably mentioned this apple cider vinegar drink dozens of times on this blog and on social media. Whenever I share a photo or mention this drink, someone always asks what it is.
So I decided to share my recipe and share why I drink this every morning!
I started drinking apple cider vinegar drinks about three years ago when I learned how amazing vinegar is for health.
Now juice companies like Suja, Kevita and BluePrint are bottling vinegar drinks. (read about it here) I haven’t seen any of the bottled versions in any of my local grocery stores yet, but I can guess that a homemade version will be a money saver.
I always make my apple cider vinegar drinks in small Ball jars, so each one is a serving size. I just grab one out of the refrigerator every morning, shake it up and drink. You could also make a big batch in a pitcher, stir it up and pour it in a glass.
Here are just a few of the benefits of apple cider vinegar:
- It can help lower cholesterol.
- It aids digestion.
- It can improve your intestinal flora.
- The acetic acid in apple cider vinegar helps suppress your appetite, increase your metabolism and reduce water retention.
- It’s an energy booster.
- It’s high in potassium, so it can help reduce cramps.
- It can help keep your blood sugar levels balanced.
- It’s high in vitamin C.
- It’s great for circulation.
- It balances your skin’s pH levels.
The original recipe that I used was from Tone It Up, but I changed it over the years and made it my own.
I use spices to add specific health benefits and to reduce inflammation.
Here’s why I use each ingredient in my morning drink:
Honey – Natural energy booster, aids brain health, immunity builder.
Cinnamon – Full of antioxidants, has anti-inflammatory properties, reduces risk of heart disease, helps lower blood sugar levels.
Turmeric – Has anti-inflammatory properties, linked to improved brain function, helps prevent cancer and heart disease, full of antioxidants.
Cayenne Pepper – Helps digestion, boosts metabolism, provides detox support and promotes heart health.
Ginger – Helps with digestion, boosts the immune system, has anti-inflammatory properties and acts as a highly potent antioxidant agent.
