Happy New Year! I hope you enjoyed celebrating the end of 2016 and welcoming the new year.
My New Year’s weekend was pretty low key, which was nice. We spent New Year’s Eve with friends enjoying good food and champagne, and playing games. The rest of the weekend was slow moving and relaxing.
Here’s a recap of my weekend…
Saturday, Dec. 31, 2016
I woke up feeling a little under the weather. So I lounged around most of the morning. I did a little bit of work promoting my upcoming 30 Day New Year Jump Start (which you should definitely join!).
The BF and I finally got dressed and headed out of the house to grab take out for lunch. I enjoyed tofu pad Thai from Suwannee (which I ate in my pajamas). I had been craving this for weeks, and it did not disappoint.
That afternoon, I had a manicure appointment with my niece. She gave me a fun New Year’s Eve manicure.
The BF and I drove to Hastings for dinner and game night at our friends Kevin and Meggan’s. Meggan made a delicious pasta dish and homemade focaccia. Russanne made a delicious salad with homemade dressing. I had plenty of dairy-free options, which was amazing. I totally failed on bringing food and picked up a veggie tray at the grocery store.
We spent the evening laughing and drinking champagne cocktails…
and playing Codenames.
It was great to ring in the New Year with this group of lovely people. The BF and I got home around 2 a.m.

I slept until almost 10:30 a.m. and woke up feeling pretty awful. I had only had a couple glasses of champagne and had my last one around 9:30 p.m., so it wasn’t the bubbly. I think I’m on the verge of a sickness.
I decided to start 2017 with my favorite meal – sprouted grain toast topped with avocado, eggs, red pepper flakes and pink Himalayan salt.
When I started to feel better, I put our Christmas decorations away and did some cleaning. I love holiday decorations, but I also love starting the new year with a clean clutter free house. My niece gave me this top for Christmas. I think it should be my mantra for 2017. I need to work less and relax more. You can find my “Can’t Adult Today” top here.
I also finished up my New Year intention setting while I enjoyed a green smoothie, kombucha and coffee. All the drinks! I’m going to use The Conquer Kit to get focused on reaching my business goals this year!
The BF and I went to Target – I picked up a new planner for social media/blogging content planning. Then we went to Rogue One at the movie theater. I haven’t seen all the Star Wars movies, but I still liked it.
We had dinner at my parent’s house to celebrate the New Year with the fam.
It was a relaxing start to the new year, which was exactly what I needed.
How did you celebrate the New Year?
