Online Resources for Body Acceptance

While social media can often be a dumpster fire, it can also be a place to learn and find inspiration.

As someone who experiences thin privilege (I don’t experience weight bias) but has a history of disordered eating and negative body image, filling my online space with bodies of all sizes and body acceptance educators has been transformative.

Curating my social media feeds by following accounts that promote Intuitive Eating, Health at Every Size (HAES) and fat acceptance has helped me confront my own internalized fatphobia and beliefs based in diet culture. It’s allowed me to learn about the impact of weight bias. And it’s helped me to practice more self-compassion and body acceptance.

Below you’ll find a list of social media accounts to follow and podcasts to listen to for body acceptance inspiration. This is a good place to start curating your online spaces. You may want to start following hashtags like #HAES, #intuitiveeating, #fatpositive, #bodyliberation and #bodypositive.

This list of podcasts will help you learn about weight bias, ditching diet culture, accepting your body and more.
