Start your morning with this anti-inflammatory turmeric shot!
I’ve been starting every day this week with a shot!
A turmeric energy shot. Sounds weird, right? Well, these little drinks are packed with tons of nutrition and will leave you feeling full of energy. So much better than those packaged energy drinks that are full of icky ingredients.
I first learned about these shots on Real Girls Kitchen and I was intrigued. I decided to give it a try and see how it tasted and how I felt.
I admit, these shots aren’t like drinking a lemon drop. No sweet boozy taste here. Turmeric shots are a bit earthy and spicy despite the fact that they are full of lemon juice.
But the nutrition in these shots makes the interesting taste worth it…
- Coconut water is hydrating and has potassium.
- Turmeric aids in digestion and is full of antioxidants.
- Cayenne pepper helps regulate blood flow and allows toxins to leave the body. It also warms the body and helps increase metabolism.
- Lemons are also a digestive aid and they are high in vitamin C.
After I took a shot of this stuff, I really did feel a little buzz of energy. The BF also tested it out, and he said he felt energized.
Just a little tip, make sure you have a chaser ready. You’ll need to take a few sips of water after you take this shot!
This recipe makes quite a bit, so whip up a batch and keep it in your refrigerator.
I also realized that I don’t own shot glasses! I had to drink my shot out of a small Ball jar. I think I should get some fancy shot glasses for my new drink of choice!
