Living your healthiest and happiest life doesn’t have to be complicated. I’m making a commitment to sharing simple solutions to help you take immediate action to live your most nourished life.
I’ve been thinking a lot about the accessibility of health and wellness, and my own contributions in the wellness space. This is something that has been coming up for me again and again over the past few months, so I feel like it’s time to share.
When I first began my journey to living a healthier life, it was quite simple. I moved my body more and I ate healthier foods.
I used the high school track to keep track of how far I ran because I didn’t have a fancy GPS watch. I did workout DVD’s in my living room on a yoga mat that I bought at Target. I started incorporating more fresh vegetables and fruit into my diet, and I didn’t worry if they weren’t organic. I replaced processed and sugary snacks with simple whole food substitutions like plain Greek yogurt with honey or bananas dipped in natural peanut butter.
As I became more immersed in the wellness space online and I became more educated in nutrition and holistic health through my health coaching education, I began adding in more wellness habits or trying wellness trends that weren’t as basic as when I started my health journey. I’ve tried many things over the years – some that stuck with me and others that were short lived.
I now realize that some of those wellness habits, many that I’ve shared here on this blog and on social media, aren’t necessarily accessible to everyone.
Things like adaptogenic lattes, superfood smoothies, gourmet nut butters, clearing negative energy with sage, fitness classes at boutique studios, expensive yoga pants, using crystals, and kombucha aren’t necessary to live your healthiest life.
I admit, those are all things that I love and that I use regularly, but they’re not the foundational things that keep me healthy. They’re bonus wellness tools that you can use once you’ve created a healthy foundation and have created sustainable wellness habits that make you feel good.
Focusing on all of those wellness trends may make taking those first steps to live a healthier life feel complicated, overwhelming, and unattainable. I totally get that.
I also realized that I felt a bit of pressure to keep up with all of the wellness trends to stay relevant in the online wellness space. I’ve never shared anything that was inauthentic. Authenticity is one of my core values, and I will always be real with you. But growing an online business is all about building a following, and there’s pressure to share topics that will get hits, likes, and shares. It’s one of the things that I struggle with as a business owner.
But my ultimate goal is to serve you. To help you live your healthiest, happiest, and most nourished life. For you to love your body more, stop dieting for good, create a healthy relationship with food, and feel like you’re shining from the inside out.
Which is why I will do my best to get back to basics. Living your healthiest life is possible without spending your entire salary on trendy wellness products and spending all of your time trying to keep up with what the hottest health products are.
Living a nourished life isn’t just for the privileged.
I’ll continue to share products that I love, healthy habits that I’ve created, and wellness tools that I’m using because I do believe that that content has value and may be of interest to you.
But I know that there are simple solutions to your health and wellness struggles that I can share with you that will allow you to take immediate action to improve your overall health.
This philosophy of keeping wellness accessible is why I’ve always kept the cost of my one-on-one health coaching programs low.
The cost for 90 days of health coaching is less than the cost of eating out three times per week (for one person), or about the same as buying a coffee shop flavored coffee five times per week. And the beautiful part of one-on-one health coaching is that I teach you how to make eating nourishing foods at home easier and how to save money on eating well. So when you finish your health coaching program, you’ll end up saving money.
And my health coaching program is about so much more than helping you learn how to eat healthy foods. Because you most likely know what you should be eating, but you’ve struggled to stick to healthy eating. I help you get to the root of why you haven’t been able to make healthy habits sustainable, and guide you to create practices that heal your relationship with food and your body.
My health coaching program is about making things easier, and I want my blog and social media content to reflect that. I know that you have a lot going on in your life, and don’t have time for complicated or time consuming practices. Feeling your best can be simple!
