I’m changing things up a bit today with a fun post that I saw on Fitnessista’s blog.
It’s a little survey-type post to give you a glimpse of what’s happening in my life and to give you some ideas on what to read, wear, watch, eat and listen to.
Reading – I haven’t started a new book yet this year because I’m still trying to get through my huge stack of magazines. I feel like it just keeps growing. I read one magazine and get two more in the mail. I’m not renewing any subscriptions this year!
I really want to read It Was Me All Along by Andie Mitchell, but my local library doesn’t have it. I’m going to request that they purchase the book (as soon as I find my library card). If I can’t get it any time soon, I’m going to read Add More -Ing to Your Life by Gabrielle Berstein. I have it on my Kindle/iPad.
I also just bought HIIT It! by Gina Harney (blogger at Fitnessista). I’ve only flipped through her book so far, but I’m excited to read more.
Wearing – My mom bought me Zella Live-In Leggings for Christmas and I could actually live in them. They are so comfortable for lounging, but they’re also great for yoga and other workouts.
Besides my new leggings, I’ve basically been wearing flannel pajamas at every opportunity. It’s been frigid here in Nebraska for weeks now, and I’m over it. I would prefer to never get dressed and never leave the house, but that’s not possible. I’ve also been noticing that when the BF and I are out shopping, the only things I look at are sweat pants, pajama pants and cozy sweatshirts. I definitely need spring to get here so that I find my motivation to put a little effort into my look.
Watching – The BF and I have been watching Parks and Recreation from the beginning. We’re in the middle of season 5. I’m so in love with this show! I had only watched an episode here and there before, but the BF has already seen all the episodes. I’m so glad he decided to watch the seasons again with me.
We also started watching Black Mirror. It’s a British show about the negative impact of technology. It’s incredibly dark and depressing, but it makes you think. We can only watch one episode at a time because most of the episodes are major downers. But it’s worth watching, I swear!
The other show we’ve recently been into is Transparent. It’s about a man who is transgender and the impact it has on him and his family. We watched quite a few episodes, but had to take a break because the characters can be hard to watch. They’re all incredibly self-absorbed. There are some touching moments though, so we’ll probably go back to it eventually.
Eating – I just started an elimination diet on Monday, so I’m not eating gluten, dairy, soy, corn, sugar, caffeine or alcohol. I’ll tell you more about it in tomorrow’s post. But I’ve been eating lots of fruits and vegetables!
I also picked up some coconut butter at HyVee the other day. It’s been forever since I had coconut butter, so I’ve really been enjoying it.
Listening to – Jillian Michaels podcasts. Whenever I’m doing the dishes or cleaning the house, I listen to Jillian’s podcasts. She’s funny, self-depricating and has a big heart. She talks about fitness, nutrition, mental health, relationships, children and lots more. I always take away some little tip that makes it worth listening to.
What are you reading, wearing, watching, eating and listening to?
