I love taking group fitness classes. Hello, I am a group fitness instructor! But I’ve really come to love working out at home.
It’s nice to be able to roll out your yoga mat or grab a pair of weights and get a 30 minute workout done without having to sign up for a class, make yourself presentable for public viewing and drive to the gym.
But what I always struggle with when working out at home, is pushing myself the way I do in a group fitness class.
I got the opportunity to try Gigabody through my ambassadorship with Fit Approach, and I was surprised by how challenging the workouts were!
Gigabody was created to offer the benefits of the best workout DVDs with the convenience of having them at your fingertips.
The website has all types of workouts – cardio, strengthening and sculpting, yoga, kickboxing, dance and barre and abdominal workouts.
Before I chose a workout, I spent some time browsing the workout options and saved my favorites for later. I was mostly looking for strengthening and toning workouts. I get plenty of cardio from the fitness classes that I teach, so I was happy to see lots of options for adding strength workouts to my routine.
I was a fan of the Xen Strength Core Balance Challenges. I was actually excited to do a Xen Strength workout because I follow the instructor, Danielle Diamond, on Instagram. I was excited to see someone I was familiar with leading some of the videos!
I love Danielle’s core balance challenges because she incorporates light weights with yoga. It’s super challenging! My arms and legs were on fire!
My other fave was the Barre Breakthrough workouts. I was excited to do a barre workout because there aren’t many opportunities to do barre around here (although I hear a yoga studio is going to start offering barre soon!). All I needed was a chair and light weights. The lightest weights I had were five pounders, but I really needed two pound weights. All those little tiny movements are challenging!
I also love that Gigabody has plenty of yoga videos. I get tired of doing the yoga DVDs I have over and over again, and I only take classes in a studio about twice a month because of the cost.
The classes are also a variety of lengths – from 15 minutes to over an hour. So you can choose workouts that work with your schedule.
Another cool feature is that you can sign up for a training plan. Your workout schedule is designed by a trainer, and it’s designed to maximize your results with appropriate recovery periods.
